From CAD Pioneers to HP's Largest Partner in Southern Africa
Graficomp began in the 1980s as an architectural design firm specialising in computer-aided design technology — long before wide-format printing was part of the picture. Our founders were early adopters of digital drafting, which gave us something rare: a deep, first-hand understanding of what design and engineering professionals actually need from their output hardware.
When HP introduced the first DesignJet plotter, we recognised the shift immediately. We transitioned from designing to distributing — focusing entirely on helping South African businesses access and get the most from HP's large-format technology. That decision defined everything that followed.

1980s
Founded as an architectural CAD firm

HP DesignJet distribution begins
We pivot to hardware distribution, becoming one of South Africa's first HP DesignJet resellers as the technology replaces traditional pen plotters.
